Incontinence treatment, prolapse treatment, vaginal tightening, now possible with laser
Stress Urinary Incontinence Laser Treatment
IncontiLase® is a non-invasive Er:YAG laser therapy for the treatment of mild and moderate stress urinary incontinence, based on non-ablative photothermal stimulation of collagen neogenesis, shrinking and tightening of vaginal mucosa tissue and collagen-rich endopelvic fascia, and subsequently greater support for the bladder.
The indications for IncontiLase therapy are mild and moderate stress- and mixed-urinary incontinence (SUI). Preliminary clinical studies show that it is an efficient, easy-to-perform and safe procedure.
Exceptional clinical results
Scientific results from clinical studies show excellent improvement for mild and moderate stress urinary incontinence.
Almost 70% of patients are dry after 120 days.
120 days after IncontiLase treatment 94% of patients reported improvement and 68% of all patients claimed to be free of SUI symptoms.
Improvement of SUI in all measured parameters.
No adverse events noted in any of the studies.
Vaginal Atrophy Laser Treatment
RenovaLase® is a unique and innovative, non-invasive 2940 nm Er:YAG laser therapy for the symptoms of vaginal atrophy. It is based on non-ablative photothermal treatment of the vaginal canal. Clinical studies show that it is an efficient, easy-to-use, quick and safe procedure that eliminates the need for long-term estrogen administration.
How does RenovaLase® work?
The RenovaLase treatment is based on laser-induced, mild and controlled heating of the vaginal tissue, which stimulates angiogenesis, fibroblast activity and new collagen formation without thermal or ablative damage. The final result is increased epithelial thickness as well as vascularization of the lamina propria, along with a reduction of symptoms such as dryness, itching, irritation and dyspareunia.
Promising clinical Results
Scientific results presented by Dr. Marco Gambacciani and Dr. Adrian Gaspar clearly show a noticeable improvement in the symptoms of vaginal atrophy. Results show favorable changes in the tropism of the vaginal mucosa, with increases in collagen and vascularization as well as in the glycogen level and the epithelial thickness. The positive effects were long lasting as results were sustained at follow-up 6 months after the treatment.
With no need for long-term estrogen treatment, RenovaLase® is also appropriate for patients with estrogen-dependent cancer (such as endometrial cancer, breast cancer, etc.) or with a family background of such cancers, as shown in clinical studies by Dr. Juan F. Bojanini and Dr. Marco Gambacciani (see Scientific & Clinical Research).
Pelvic Organ Prolapse Treatment
Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is a common problem, affecting almost 50% of parous women to some degree. Before Prolapse® there were only two solutions available: supporting pessaries and surgical methods, both of which have been associated with problems and high levels of adverse effects.
ProlapLase® is an innovative and unique non-invasive Er:YAG laser alternative for the treatment of POP. It utilizes the gentle, non ablative photothermal effects of Fotona’s SMOOTH mode to tighten the tissue and contract the vaginal canal. Preliminary clinical studies show that it is an efficient, easy-to-perform and safe procedure.

Promising clinical Results
The latest scientific results presented by Dr. Urska Bizjak-Ogrinc and Dr. Sabina Sencar clearly show that Fotona’s novel thermal laser treatment is an effective and safe noninvasive option for the treatment of POP:
The average POP grade had already been significantly reduced after the first session.
The POP continued to improve with further sessions.
Treatment discomfort was very low (mean VAS score 0.4) and patient satisfaction was high (median 4 on a 1–5 scale).
There were no adverse events reported.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR AN APPOINTMENT
IncontiLase laser fotona treatment is meant to treat stress incontinence, which there is an involuntary emission of urine when pressure within the abdomen increases suddenly
IntimaLase is to tighten the vaginal wall for increased sensations of both players.
ProlapLase is to treat prolapses of pelvic organs.
RenovaLase is to treat vaginal atrophy, a condition caused by low estrogen, where the labias and vaginal wall become dry and easily irritated.
If you have any of the following contraindications for treatment, please consult a licensed medical provider before receiving the treatment:
Pure urge incontinence/ over active bladder/ bladder overcapacity/ spastic bladder/ bladder stones
Infections of the urinary tract, vaginal canal.
Positive PAP smear, or other pathology.
Oral isotretinoin (Accutane) and Vitamin A use.
Anticoagulant therapy/ bleeding disorders.
Very severe prolapse will lead to smaller possibility for success.
Please make sure to discuss with your technician to choose a treatment that fits the best for your goal.
Make sure you fully understand the pros and cons of the treatment and is aware of the potential post-treatment discomfort including mild swelling and erythema, spotting or an increase in vaginal secretions for a few days.
